Fondacioni Kristian Humanitar

Fondacioni Kristian-Humanitar (FKH) is the cooperation partner for the Danish Moravian Mission (BDM) in Albania. FKH is also approved by the Albanian state as an Evangelical Lutheran Church, since 2010 named the Lutheran Moravian Church of Albania. The congregation was founded by a few families and has now grown up to a full congregation which holds approximately 300 members. BDM is supporting work in the congregation in several ways – it means economical, spiritually and practically - and has through the years sent missionaries to Albania for longer or shorter periods to support FKH.

Organization
FKH has a board consisting of five persons and an administrative management, consisting of 2 persons: Eduard Mazi, president of the church board and Jorgen Bøytler, pastor of the Moravian Church, DK-Christiansfeld. Managing Director and responsible for FKHs life and business is Eduard Mazi

Albania – historical review
The shared history between FKH and BDM began with the appointment of Ankjær Poulsen in BDM, 1994. Ankjær Poulsen shared a relationship to FKH in Albania, which was then quite new and not very well consolidated. After 50 years of communist dictatorship where any form of religious organization and practice was banned, the country was impoverished spiritually, economically and in all other ways when the regime collapsed in 1992. In 1993 a few christian families founded the FKH with the purpose of giving the gospel and Christianity to the Albanian children and adolescents - as a way to give them a new and good start in life.

Developments
Since then FKH, in cooperation with BDM, has started some new activities and expanded existing activities. It means that, in addition to children and youth groups, now there are also groups for adult and females in various parts of the small country, which is one of poorest countries in Europe. Albania is the same size as Jutland and is a very beautiful country with mountains and beaches laying  'opposite' Italy's heel, but is still marked by the many years of dictatorship.
FKH has in collaboration with BDM also contributed with humanitarian aid and assistance to poor and needy; actually this is one of more visions in the FKH to help in a positive way the rising of a new generation in the country.

FKH today -  and beyond ...
FKH is working on it’s visions going out from the office of the organization and the church centre placed at a central spot in the middle of the capital Tirana. The vision is to build new and expand existing work in the cities Bathore, Pogradec, Elbasan and Burrel, where a group for children and youth already exists. In Bathore also a group for adults working in Christian education has some meetings. In Tirana all the groups are gathering regularly for worship in the Church Centre.
The work in the FKH continually seeks to expand and to include more cities. And there are also constantly seminars concerning relevant teaching in the Bible, leadership training and courses to support the Christian identity in the country.
